SIGN OF THE FISHThis christian symbol was created in earliest of times due to the threat of death when the church was under intense persecution. A believer would draw half of the fish in the dirt and another would complete the drawing in order to communicate their shared faith. Christians are still dying for the faith, and the fish is still used to communicate our faith to each other and to the world.

This is the official coat of arms of the Church of Sweden. Its history can be traced back to King Erik, the patron saint of Sweden, and my direct ancestor. He was martyred in Uppsala, 18 May 1160.
The coat of arms was designed by Bengt-Olof Kälde. It has a golden field, quartered by a Greek cross in red, on which is an open golden crown, symbolizing the kingdom of Christ.
