We have become an
integral part of the Congregation and the Cathedral has become a more central
part of our lives. Clergy and
Congregation members have been very supportive of the 20/30 Connection’s important
ministry and we thank them and plan to stay connected throughout 2005! We are even have a line in this year’s
budget (yea!). We now have communications offered through the list serve that
Bowie created, social outreach through Matthew, educational opportunities
through Shawn, brunches by LeTicia, and The Rev. Mark Hummell as our ‘fun guy.’
Our mission statement
says:
We are a community
between the ages of 21 through 39 who seek a greater connection with God and
with one another. As part of the Congregation of St. Saviour at the Cathedral,
we sponsor a variety of events and gatherings and seek to provide a place where
faith is explored, questions are encouraged, and relationships are fostered.
Please let us know what you would like to see the 20/30 Connection doing this year, or if you have thoughts about 2005. Email Mark at mhummell@dioceseny.org mhummell@dioceseny.org or Bowie at bowiesnodgrass@yahoo.com.
We had a
nice picnic by the lake, a great 2 ½ hour hike, went to the top of the tower at
the top of Bear Mountain and saw the Manhattan skyline from 75 miles away (!)
and then went out for Mexican food.
"View
of Hudson Valley from Hike" "We didn't see any bears... but we did
see a bunch of dear".
The picture on the rock is of (back row, left to right) Peter, Mark Hummell, David Cole, (front row), Shawn Dean, Mark Dean, and Bowie Snodgrass. The picture on the right is from the top of the mountain is (left to right) Bowie, Peter, David, Matthew, Mark, Mark, and Shawn. The first three photos were taken by Matthew Pritchard, and the last one by a friendly fellow park visitor.
At our last couple events, we’ve been talking about what we’d like the 20/30 group to do. Some ideas have included:
If you’d be interested in these ideas, let us know! And let us know what else you’d like to see going on.
With hope and joy in this Summer,
Rev. Mark Hummell
